Brawler Details

The half-orc was puny by the standards of most of his brethren. But when it was time to prove himself in combat, he learned to use his and their own weight against them. He waited for the bigger orc to charge him, ducked, hugged his waist and flipped him over. With in just a few more seconds, an arm and neck lock led to submission.

The goblins thought they had the little halfling exactly where they wanted him. This couldn't fail, until they tried to actually hit them. The halfling moved between them with ease, dodging their blows, sometimes kicking them and sometimes taking their weapon and shoving it back into their chest. When the goblins were all down, the halfling thumbed their nose and kept walking.

The gang of thugs thought she would be easy prey, stalking her at night when she left the bar. There were four of them and one of her. They surrounded her in an alley, blades drawn. Her first move was to duck. Not to protect her head but because her legs were her primary weapon. A spinning kick from one to the other, push kick to the third, and a half moon to the fourth made them run away to rethink their actions.

The warlord thought his fortress was reinforced and garrisoned enough to stop anyone. He still had trouble sleeping. Which was finally justified when the room to his door opened, revealing a figure covered in black from head to toe, showing only blazing red eyes. One poison-covered dart in the neck later, he was off to meet his maker. The figure went out the way she came, not sparing another glance for the Bugbear that took a Katar under the arm pit, only stopping by the two hobgoblins to retrieve her shuriken from their faces.

The Brawler's Place

The Brawler sits at the junction of a fighter and a monk. It is designed to convey the fantasy of martial artist, a hand-to-hand combatant, a pugilist, but without the mystic connotations of the monk. Just a person who gets by with the bones of their hands and the skin of their teeth.

Do you want to be like Gracie or The Rock, Ah Sahm or Spike Spiegel, Daniel Russo or Walker Texas Ranger, Ninja Turtles or Batman, Vi or Daredevil? This is the fantasy the Brawler is meant to convey. As such, it focuses on chaining together cool moves and setting up and executing interesting combos.
